Kogi NUJ Passes Vote of Confidence on Kingsley Fanwo
Kogi NUJ has passed a vote of confidence on Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo.
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kogi State Council, has passed a vote of confidence on the state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, citing his relationship with journalists, support for media practitioners and contribution to public communication.
The council said Fanwo’s leadership and commitment to his responsibilities had earned him the confidence of stakeholders in the media and public communication sector.
The commendation was contained in a statement signed by the NUJ Kogi State Council Chairman, Alhaji Ademu Sheidu Haruna, and Secretary, Comrade Atuluku Samuel, PhD.
According to the council, it was particularly impressed by Fanwo’s relationship with practising journalists in the state, including what it described as his support and welfare initiatives for media practitioners.
The NUJ also cited Fanwo’s dedication, sincerity, integrity and service delivery as factors that had contributed to the confidence placed in his leadership.
“Your remarkable contributions have distinguished you as a worthy ambassador of the present administration and have positively impacted the image of Kogi State,” the council said.
The union in the statement added that its decision followed its assessment of Fanwo’s performance and commitment to duty as well as his professional relationship with journalists.
“Having carefully observed your performance and commitment to duty, the Council is pleased to unanimously pass a Vote of Confidence on you,” it stated.
The council said Fanwo’s tenure as commissioner had, in its assessment, enhanced the visibility and corporate image of Kogi State while strengthening public trust in the government and communication processes.
The NUJ Kogi Council subsequently reaffirmed its strong commitment to continued collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Communications, particularly in the dissemination of government policies, programmes and achievements.
It said the continued partnership would support the communication of the policies and programmes of the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
