Kogi PDP PRO, Catalyst Movement DG, Others Felicitate Dr Mahmoud Alfa at 46
The Acting Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, Hon. Sunday Adaji Jr, Director General of the Catalyst Movement, Comrade Israel Evra, and other dignitaries have felicitated Dr Mahmoud Bala Alfa on his 46th birthday.
Alfa, who was born on September 17, 1980, hails from Okenyi in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State. He holds a PhD in Political Economy from SMC University, Zurich, and an MSc in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He has worked in governance and policy advisory roles, including engagements with DFID and other development institutions, while also serving as an educator and adviser on governance and economic policy. His professional profile also includes experience in public-sector reform, accountability, transparency and development programmes.
In their birthday messages, the well-wishers described Alfa as a distinguished professional and Kogi son whose contributions to public discourse, governance and community development have continued to attract attention.
Adaji Jr congratulated Alfa, describing his journey as an inspiring one and wishing him “more years of wisdom, good health, greater accomplishments and meaningful service to humanity.”
The PDP acting PRO also prayed that the new year would bring Alfa “greater opportunities to contribute to the development of Kogi State and Nigeria.”
Similarly, Evra described Alfa as “a brother, a friend and a patriotic Kogi son,” saying his commitment to public service and development remained worthy of recognition.
He wished Alfa “continued wisdom, strength and divine guidance” as he marks another year, while expressing hope that his experience and expertise would continue to benefit the people.
Other dignitaries who joined in celebrating the Kogi East political figure also described him as “a man of ideas, intellect and service,” praying for many more years of impact and fulfilment.
Alfa has recently featured prominently in Kogi political discourse ahead of the 2027 elections. He has advocated strategic political participation by the Igala people and argued that the community needs to be represented in decision-making spaces where issues affecting its development are determined.
In a recent interview, Alfa said, “We lost our seat at the table because our parents were very nice people. They were calm. They were very humble,” adding that the Igala people must be “seen to participate” in political structures and decision-making.
He had also recently disclosed that Vice President Kashim Shettima was among those who inspired him to seek elective public office, describing the Vice President as a “friend, mentor and leader” whose example shaped his understanding of public service.
As he marks his 46th birthday, the celebrants wished Dr Alfa continued success in his professional, political and community engagements, with prayers for wisdom and fulfilment in the years ahead.
