For his return to office for the final and constituinally acceptable second term as Governor, the people of Kogi State are his priority and should be the priority of all current office holders in his cabinet or such individual should look elsewhere for a job, Governor Yahaya Bello has warned.

He gave the warning on Monday in his charge at the ongoing induction workshop organised for the office holders taking place at the Glass House of Government House in Lokoja tagged; ‘Induction, Orientation and Policy absorption Workshop.’

The Governor said his administration has zero tolerance to selfishness, sectionalism, favouritism and has embraced the spirit of Ebigo which stands for Ebira, Igala and Okun, the three major ethnic groups in the state.

Governor Bello urged all the office holders to put the interest of the entire state first and evolve ways that would swell the revenue of the state to create necessary resources for development rather than thinking of themselves above all in the scheme of things.

He maintained that his administration would not hesitate to show any appointee found to have inflated actual cost of projects in their various offices by even one Kobo the way out and handed over to law enforcement agencies and the court of the people of the state.

The Governor stressed that his administration which is codenamed; “The New Direction Government,” operates like a family and urged new entrants into his government to see one another as members of the same family working towards the greatness of the entire state.

He further warned against sectionalism, ethnicity and class division within his cabinet, adding that it is only when his aides were able to outgrow those vices that they could contribute adequately to the emancipation of the people.

While describing Kogi as the nucleus of the country representing the nation’s diversity, the Governor said his decision to have people across party, ethnic, and even geopolitical divides in his cabinet was to show example of the unity of Nigeria and the need for a united front among all interests in the country.

His drive, he said, is to take Kogi beyond Next Level by Doing More for the entire State.
