Kogi at 35: Ali Bello Reaffirms Ododo’s Commitment to State’s Progress
Kogi State marks its 35th anniversary with a call for unity, peace and collective commitment to its continued development, as Chief of Staff to the Governor, Ali Bello, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to building a prosperous and inclusive future.
Bello, in a message marking the anniversary, felicitated with Kogites at home and abroad, describing the milestone as an opportunity to reflect on the state’s journey, achievements and challenges since its creation.
He said Kogi had demonstrated resilience, diversity and enormous potential over the past 35 years despite the challenges associated with its development as a young state.
The Chief of Staff also acknowledged the contributions of the state’s founding fathers, past leaders and citizens, saying their sacrifices and efforts had helped shape the Kogi of today.
According to him, the development of the state remains a shared responsibility requiring unity, patriotism and commitment from its people.
Bello said the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo remained committed to building on previous achievements while pursuing a more prosperous, secure and inclusive future for residents.
He listed infrastructure development, improved education and healthcare, youth and women empowerment, expanded economic opportunities, and the consolidation of peace and security among the administration’s priorities.
“As we mark 35 years of statehood, I call on all Kogites to continue to support the administration’s development agenda, embrace peace and unity, and put the collective interest of Kogi State above personal and sectional considerations,” he said.
Bello further stressed the importance of the state’s diversity, saying its people’s shared identity as Kogites should remain a unifying force.
He expressed optimism that Kogi would continue to make progress in peace, prosperity and development, while praying for continued blessings and good governance in the state.
“Happy 35th Anniversary to Kogi State!” Bello said.
