KONGONOVATE 2023: KEDA boss receives Icon of Change award »

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kogi Enterprise Development Agency (KEDA), Hajia Rekiya Onaivo Sanni has been conferred an award with the title, “Icon of Change” at 6th edition of the Nigeria Young Minds Impact Award, KONGONOVATE 2023 event.

The event which has as it’s theme, “Technology: A Catalyst for Entrepreneurial Ventures and New Business Models”, gathered participants from various works of life to celebrate their indelible marks in their various fields of endeavors.

Hajia Sanni was recognized for her positive impact in the development of the Kogi State Entrepreneur Sector.

Taking to her personal diary, Hajia Sanni shared her thoughts on declining awards this year but was caught off guard by Abraham Kelvin, the organisers, who failed to give her prior notice of the award.

She spoke on entrepreneurship being the ability and readiness to develop, organize and run a business enterprise, along with any uncertainties in order to make a profit, and how much work still needs to be done in Kogi State top support entrepreneurs with opportunities and strengths.

Sanni humbly dedicated the award to her boss, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, for providing her with a platform to foster an SME-driven business community, restating that it’s a call to serve the mandate of His Excellency who has the enterprise sector as a top priority in his agenda.

She also dedicated the award to the Kogi SME community and courageous entrepreneurs who have continued to persevere despite the harsh business weather. Sanni acknowledged the difficulties entrepreneurs face and pledged to continue to serve them in the best possible ways.

As the MD/CEO of KEDA, Sanni has initiated various programs and initiatives to support the entrepreneurship sector in Kogi State. She has provided guidance and resources to help SMEs grow and inspired the younger generation to go into business.

Sanni’s efforts have had a significant impact on the development of Kogi State’s entrepreneurship sector, and her recognition at KONGONOVETE 2023 comes as no surprise, as she and her team had worked assiduously to ensure that the enterprise actor of the state gets a positive face lift through their various programs and initiatives.
