Late Justice Atadoga will be remembered for his godliness, professionalism- Gov. Bello

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has described the late Justice Ibrahim Atadoga Shuaibu of the Kogi State Customary Court of Appeal as a disciplined Jurist who upheld the core values of the legal profession.

Bello said the late Justice was reputed to be a God-fearing and empathetic man who treated everyone with respect and handled his duties with utmost professionalism.

Represented by his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja, the Governor made this remark during the burial service for the deceased at his country home in Ibado-Akpacha in Omala local government area of Kogi State.

Describing the late Jurist as a workaholic, Governor Bello said the former President of the Customary Court of Appeal in his time upheld towering standards of integrity and excellence on the bench, and lived up to the lofty ideals of love and jurisprudence in Kogi State and the Nation as a whole.

‘His lordship has left deep imprints in the sands of time which the winds of change will find difficult to erase.

‘We have lost a workaholic who inspired reforms in the Kogi State judicial system including amendments to the customary laws of the state which significantly improved the effectiveness of the customary court in helping the people.’

Governor Bello added that the state has lost a rare asset, and expressed his deep condolences to the family of the deceased, his friends and colleagues.

Late Hon. Justice Ibrahim Atadoga Shuaibu died on Sunday the 21st of June, 2020.
