Lokoja LG Chair visits HYPPADEC Coordinator, appeals for increase in catchment areas »

The Transition Committee Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Kogi State Coordinator of the Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC), Engr. Mrs Oguche Joan, FNSE in her office in Lokoja.

Comrade Abdullahi Adamu stated that the purpose of the visit was to familiarize and to commend and appreciate the Kogi State Coordinator and by extension, the Commission for the numerous intervention in their coverage areas.

He noted that the Local Government is keen on partnership with the Commission to empower youths with skills. He urged the Commission to look into increasing the number of HYPPADEC catchment areas in Lokoja Local Government Area.

Engr. Joan is her remark thanked the Chairman and his entourage for the visit. She stated that the office is always ready to collaborate with the Local Government to help them reach the grassroot.

She noted that the Commission has recently trained over 600 youths in addition to other interventions like scholarship, borehole, classroom construction etc

In the Chairman’s entourage are the Lokoja Local Government Management Staff headed by the DLG, Alhaji Aliyu O. Musa, Transition Committee Secretary, Hon. Emmanuel Egamana and other members of the committee.
