Mahmoud Alfa Meets Kogi Leaders, Calls for APC Unity »

Political economist and former All Progressives Congress (APC) Kogi East senatorial aspirant, Dr. Mahmoud Alfa, has called for greater unity within the party following a series of meetings with senior government officials and APC stakeholders in Kogi State.

Alfa made the call on Monday during separate engagements with the Secretary to the Kogi State Government, Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade; Deputy Governor Elder Joel Salifu; and APC stakeholders from Ankpa Local Government Area.

The meetings focused on the development of Kogi State, party unity and collaboration towards the continued success of the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

During his visit to the SSG, Ayoade and Alfa discussed issues relating to the progress and development of the state.

The SSG commended Alfa for the visit, described him as “her own son” and wished him well in his future engagements.

Alfa later met with Deputy Governor Joel Salifu, where both leaders emphasised the need for greater unity within the APC and collaboration in support of the Ododo administration and the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration.

The former senatorial aspirant subsequently attended the Ankpa Local Government APC Stakeholders Meeting held at Halims Hotel in Lokoja.

The reconciliation meeting brought together APC leaders and stakeholders, including Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims, Professor Usman Ogbo, Dr. Kashim Akor and the Chairman of Ankpa Local Government Area.

The stakeholders called on members of the party to close ranks and work together for the progress of the APC.

Financial support was also announced for the meeting. Hon. Halims donated ₦2 million, while Alfa contributed ₦1 million and Dr. Kashim Akor donated ₦100,000.

The engagements form part of Alfa’s stated commitment to promoting unity within the APC, supporting Governor Ododo’s administration and backing the re-election bids of Governor Ododo and President Tinubu.
