My agenda for Kogi State Specialist Hospital; new CMD, Dr Attah

The new Chief Medical Director of Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Dr Ahmed Attach has promised the staff of a paradigm shift from the old order as his administration is ready to bring about positive changes.

He made the promise on Monday while formally assuming office as the new substantive CMD, succeeding the immediate past head of the hospital, Dr Bolorunduro Ehalaye.

Addressing the staff immediately after the handing over, Dr Attah said his tenure would emphasise on the need for the staff embrace hard work, commitment and passion as they were necessary ingredients for success.

He also urged them to imbibe the spirit of transparency, accountability, effective communication, compromise where necessary, sacrifice, focus and dedication.

Dr Attah, who applauded the staff for their resilience despite the challenges they face on the job, urged them to have belief in their ability to deliver by being innovative, disciplined and prompt in service delivery.

The new CMD said his first priority after God was the patients who are the customers to whom the staff were expected to deliver quality services, saying that it was necessary for the sick to have prompt attention.

In delivering the services to the patients, Dr Attah urged them to put in their best because his leadership would introduce a reward system for outstanding staff in all the departments and units of the hospital.

He told the staff to return the institution to the old days when it was the cynosure of all eyes and the envy of the rest, stressing his commitment to returning all the suspended and laid off staff to give the hospital a new lease of life.

The CMD who assured the staff of his commitment to their welfare, said he would advocate to government for prompt payment of salaries and other benefits.

He also promised to reinvigorate the staff clinic programme, prompt composition of staff welfare committee, quick implementation of recommendations among other things that would improve the fortunes of the hospital, its staff and patients.

Dr Attah then thanked the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for giving him the opportunity to serve, and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Edward Onoja, for his support, and promised not to let them down.
