The ministry of health in Lagos state had reported the first case of Coronavirus in Nigeria on the 27th February 2020 to the federal ministry of health since its break out in January 2020 in China.

It was gathered that on the 26th of February and Italian businessan who entered Nigeria on the 25th of February fell I’ll and was taken to the Lagos biosecurity facilities for isolation and testing where it was confirmed that the patient was infected by the COVID-19 By the virology laboratory of the Lagos university teaching Hospital.

It has also been said by the management of infectious Disease Hospital in yaba Lagos that the patient is medically stable and has no serious symptoms.

According to the commissioner for health in Lagos state prof Akin Abayomi he stated that” we have immediately activated the state Emergency operations centre to Response to this case and implement firm control measures”.

He further advise lagosians to take their health issues seriously and they should be conscious enough to protect themselves among other even families.

Also the Honorable minister of health osagie Ehanire assured Nigerians that measures are been put in place and they are working with the Lagos state ministry of health to identify contacts and initiate Response according.
