Nine Kogi East APC LGA Chairmen Back 2027 Mobilisation, Power Rotation Framework
The nine Local Government Area (LGA) chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi East Senatorial District, alongside 97 ward chairmen, have endorsed the resolutions of the Kogi East APC Critical Stakeholders Forum, pledging to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a joint declaration issued in Lokoja, the grassroots party executives expressed support for the communiqué released after the Kogi East APC Strategic Leadership Conference held in Abuja. They said they were aligned with the forum’s call for extensive voter mobilisation across the district to secure electoral victories for the APC in 2027.
The chairmen also backed the stakeholders’ decision to pursue a structured and negotiated framework for power rotation while placing emphasis on securing tangible development projects for Kogi East.
They urged the stakeholder forum to sustain its advocacy for major infrastructure projects, arguing that the senatorial district had suffered significant infrastructure deficits over the past two decades.
The grassroots leaders further joined the stakeholders in calling on the Federal Government to confer a posthumous national honour on the late former Governor of Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu, citing what they described as his contributions to the state’s development and Nigeria’s democratic history.

In the declaration, the chairmen stated: “We fully endorse the visionary leadership and strategic direction set by our leaders in Abuja. As custodians of the party across all 97 wards in Kogi East, we are united in ensuring that our people deliver a landslide vote share for President Tinubu and Governor Ododo.
“Crucially, we charge our leaders to negotiate courageously for major roads, economic projects, and public infrastructure, while passionately advocating for a fitting national honour for our late political icon, Prince Abubakar Audu.”
The party executives also pledged to activate ward and polling unit structures across the district to strengthen internal cohesion, promote reconciliation among party members and boost voter turnout in all nine local government areas.
The declaration was signed on behalf of the Kogi East APC grassroots leadership by Ishaq Yunusa Abu (Dekina), Thankgod U. Omale (Ibaji), Ameh Abuh Ibrahim (Olamaboro), Musa Ochidi Halilu (Igalamela/Odolu), Muhammed Salihu (Ankpa), Adejoh Salifu Alhassan (Idah), Abdullahi A. Umar (Bassa), Alih Shehu Ogijo (Omala) and Salihu Wada (Ofu).
