The Oba of Yoruba Community in Lokoja, Oba Alhaji Bello Audu – Oke who is popularly referred to as Owoniboy has organised a special prayer for the success of President Muhammadu Buhari – led Federal Government and Kogi State Government under Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

The prayer was held in his palace in Lokoja and witnessed the presence of scholars – both Yoruba and non – Yoruba from all parts of the Kogi State capital, and had clerics pray for the Oba’s successful reign.

In his remarks during the prayer session, the Oba said his motivation for organising the prayer was to ask God to grant government at all levels wisdom to pilot the affairs of the country and the state, and himself the wherewithal to have a peaceful and productive tenure.

He said there was nothing he could do without God and that the re – election bid of Governor Bello required divine intervention, just as his enthronement was divinely orchestrated.

The Oba who expressed immense gratitude to Almighty God for using the present government to ensure he received his staff of office after over two decades of his appointment without the mantle of authority, said his people were indebted to the government for the gesture.

He then promised to mobilise his people to vote massively for the second tenure of the Governor, and promised his people’s commitment to peace and harmony with their neighbours in all parts of the state.

Oba Owoniboy used the occasion to call on the youth of the state not to allow themselves to be used as thugs and other elements of public disturbance, and described them as future leaders.
