Ofu APC receives defecting former Assembly Member, others from deflated PDP »

Again the All Progressive Congress received defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party led by the immediate past Kogi State House of Assembly Member for Ofu LGA Honourable Friday Ali.

The event which was held on Saturday at the Local Government Secretariat witnessed a large turn out of party stakeholders, supporters and others who recently pitched their tents with the progressive party.

At the event, party leaders, stakeholders and supporters who defiled the rain, reiterated the need for the re – election of Governor Yahaya Bello at the primaries to fly the party flag into victory come November.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Edward Onoja who received the newly enlisted party members on behalf of the National and State party leadership mentioned that the APC has received five successive defectors from the PDP in the past few months

He assured Honourable Ali that the APC believes in equality and fairness, stating that they would not be discriminated regardless of them joining the party newly as they were bona-fide members of the APC.

The Chief of Staff pointed out that this current dispensation was for the Youth noting that Alhaji Yahaya Bello remained the only option for the State to progress to the Next Level.

Speaking on behalf of the other defectors, Honouralble Friday Ali thanked the State Governor, Chief of Staff and other party leaders of the APC for the opportunity to join the party.

He noted that their decision to join the party was based on the laudable testaments which they have heard and seen about the Governor Bello Led administration.

The newly enlisted party member promised to work effectively in facilitating the victory of Governor Bello at the primaries and the November 16 Gubernatorial election.

Other party leaders and Stakeholders who spoke at the occasion added their voices in reassuring their readiness for the actualisation of the reelection of Governor Bello at the polls.

They assured that the coming election would be taken as a personal project stating that this period was a pay back time for the overwhelming support they have received from the Governor.
