Lokoja APC ward chairmen declare support for Gov. Yahaya Bello. »

The reelection bid of Governor Yahaya Bello received another boost as the 10 APC Ward Chairmen in Lokoja Local Government, on Friday, declared their total support for hi reelection and pledged their resolve to mobilize their ward executive to vote for the governor in the August 29, governorship primary election of the party in the state.

The Ward Chairmen gave this assurance after a brief meeting with the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Edward Onoja at the party’s campaign office in Lokoja the state capital.

Alhaji Ibrahim Chatta, Kakanda Ward chairman who doubles as the leader of the APC Forum of Ward Chairmen in Lokoja local government, said their decision was influenced by the leadership style of Governor Yahaya Bello who has proven to be a detribalized leader that has prioritize the welfare of party leaders in the state.

He said that being the party’s eyes and ears at the grassroot, they feel the pulse of the people better, saying that the people are calling for the return of the governor and they as party delegates will play their part in realizing this desire.

“We met along with the leader of our party who was ably represented by his Chief of Staff, we reviewed and supported the positive changes brought about by the Bello led administration and agreed to iron out every grey areas.

“Since our collective drive is the growth and development of the state, we unanimously agreed to support the aspiration of governor Bello for the next election, so that we can continue move forward”.

On his part, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Edward Onoja reiterated the commitment of Governor Yahaya Bello to sustaining the current cordial relationship with party executives, saying that it can only get better.

He thanked the ward leaders for their open declaration of support, and gave the assurance that they will continue to play active role in the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

“I want to assure you that your decision is noble. We will continue to carry you along for the good of the state,” Onoja said.

Lokoja Local Government comprises of Ten political wards which are; Ward A,B,C,D And E of Lokoja 1. While Lokoja 2 comprises of Kakanda, Oworo, Kupa South, Kupa North and Eggan wards respectively.
