Ogori/Magongo NYCN boosts LGA security through donation of working tools to Vigilante Services
The National Youth Council of Nigeria in Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area has given the security architecture in the area a huge boost by donating some working materials to the Kogi State Vigilante Services in the Local Government.
The donation of torchlights, cutlasses and cash was presented to the vigilante services by the youth council coordinator in the area, Comrade Obas Adesina.
Presenting the items, the coordinator said the council’s resolve to make contribution in that regard was emboldened by the efforts of the Kogi State government under Governor Yahaya Bello.
He noted that security of lives and property was a task that should be undertaken by all well meaning citizens, irrespective of their creed and class, noting that Governor Bello had shown total commitment to rid the state of all elements of criminality since inception of his administration in order for peaceful coexistence to manifest among the population.
The coordinator expressed worries over some recent negative security developments in the area that threaten to hamper gains of government commitment in the sector, and urged the vigilante services in the LGA and security agencies in general not to be discouraged.
Speaking at the occasion, the administrator for the Local Government, Hon Goke Oparison praised the NYCN for their foresight and thinking in the direction of assisting the vigilante services in the area, and called on other well meaning citizens to emulate the gesture.
While urging them to do more in terms logistics and other forms of support to the security outfit, Hon Oparison who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon Agbogun reiterated the determination of his administration to continue to copy from the doggedness of Governor
Reacting, the leader of the Vigilante group, Danladi Daudu expressed joy over the development and promised that the materials would be utilized for the purposes they were intended.
