Olamaboro agog as APC begins ‘Ward to Ward’ campaign

The All Progressive Congress in Kogi State formally begins its campaign for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

The party which began a ‘ward to ward’ campaign today have all party stakeholders, including the Deputy Governor of the state back to their various local governments to engage with electorates.

Olamaboro local government came alive as every ward visited was filled to capacity, and the presence of Chief Edward Onoja drew joyous spectators from every angle of the wards.

The entire town were adorned with posters bearing messages such as: ‘BELLONOJA2019′ Let’s Do More’; Next Level 2019 Bello and Onoja; “Welcome our son”; “APC our party’; among others.

At Ade, in Olamaboro ward 1, the APC Chairman, Olamaboro local government, honourable Ameh Abu said the people have emphasized it time without number that Olamaboro is fully for APC because of the numerous developments that the local government have enjoyed under the current leadership of the state, stating that the local government will deliver over ninety-five percent of total votes of the local government to APC.

In Etutekpe, Olamaboro ward 2, the ward Chairman, Mohmoh Odobo who received 103 decampees into APC at the venue said his ward is witnessing the presence of government for the first time in a while, saying that the APC administration has brought unexpected goodwill to them.

He stated that the ward is united in its resolve to retain the government that remembers them.

The Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government, honorable Friday Adejoh during his speech in Okpo, Olamaboro ward 3, said while they were still basking in the euphoria of having one of them as the Chief of Staff to the governor, God decided to let them have a feel of the Deputy Governor position; “it is amazing, we love it and will show our gratitude to God by ensuring that this lasts for another four years”. He said.

The Director General of APC Campaign council in Olamaboro local government, Engineer Sony Okoh said Olamaboro local government is most favored in the current APC led government in the state. He said from human capital development to infrastructure, the local government stands tall among equals, this he attributed to their strategic positioning in the government. He called on the people to show appreciation with their thumb on November 16 by voting for APC.

The Benue State Chairman of APC, Hon. Abah Yaro who joined the Deputy Governor in the tour said Kogi State was lucky to have Yahaya Bello and Edward Onoja as governor and deputy governor, saying that the duo are highly cerebral in governance and share similar development principles. He called on the people of the area to hold tight to what they have because other states are jealous and yearning to have the type of government that Kogi State currently enjoys.

In all the wards visited, the Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja appreciated God Almighty for elevating him to the position of Deputy Governor and thanked the people of Olamaboro for not letting him down in proving to the world that they are a people of gratitude.

He said the people have always shown their support for the government of Yahaya Bello and said that the time has come for them to prove that once more.

“I am who I am today due to the grace of God and the support of my people. I want to thank you all for the support so far and for proving to the whole world that Olamaboro, and indeed the entire people of Igala Kingdom are a people of gratitude who reward good with good.

“you have shown in times innumerable your support for my boss, Governor Yahaya Bello, we are faced with another opportunity to show to Governor Bello and APC that Olamaboro is intact. With all that i have seen and heard, i am confident that Olamaboro will show to Dekina and Okene local governments what block votes looks like”.

The Deputy Governor said, the government of Yahaya Bello have dotted developmental projects evenly across the state saying that a second term guarantees more development for the state.

“We are here to campaign and i am glad that we have not come to bore you with rhetorics, Governor Yahaya Bello APC led government have spread developmental projects across the state. I Kogi East alone we have Ibana – Ogugu-Ete road, the Umomi-Akpagidigbo-Ugwolawo-Ajaka-Idah road, Ankpa Township roads, the ongoing Dekina township road, the ongoing operation power Kogi East amongst others. All these are a testament to Governor Bello’s resolve to develop our land. Give us another opportunity to consolidate on these and others”.

The tour which covered five out of the ten wards in the local government today is expected to terminate tomorrow with a visit to the five remaining wards.
