Opinion: Of Hon. Zach’s Necessity

Applying medicated syrup to a sick child demands the use of euphemistic skills in avoidance of rejection for perceived smell. It is a task that beckons on tested and trusted hands of nannies, care givers and mothers. No one suddenly appears on greatness radar without an experience of the good, bad and ugly.

The cost of proper leadership goes beyond the projective-line of actions as against average expectations of a political figure himself. It requires ready hands of a man given to sacrificial services, tilted towards improved lives of immediate contituents and the society at large.

Suzy Kassem, an American poet and philosopher of Egyptian origin once said, “to know the good from the bad, study a man or woman’s history of actions, not their record of intentions.”

In alliance with this writers’ intention, Kassem tried to point out the necessity and importance of an aspirant’s antecedents on previous positions probably managed. She assumed that a microscopic touch-lighted view on previous records give ample possibility for prediction of the future with such figure when given another privilege of service.

Hon. David Zachariah, the All Progressives Congress Candidate for Idah Federal Constituency in the forth coming 2023 elections captures the picture of a man committed to the well-being of his people against all odds.

The testament of his current representation in the Green Chambers is likened into a hallelujah chorus, echoed in all the nooks and crannies of the constituency.

From women empowerment to provision of basic amenities, sponsorship of the less privileged to schools, construction and reconstruction of infrastructures, electrification of various communities, provision of job opportunities for the teeming youths and ensuring the existence of a united components of his core primary constituency.

In a testimonial video, captured in one of his youth empowerment programmes at Ejule community secondary school in June 2021, recipients of grinding machines, tricycles, bikes, cash and farming implements were seen in emotional state of gratitude to Hon. David Zachariah, categorically stating it was the first of its kind where a sitting Reps Member remembers the undying needs of his people.

Kassem’s point, predictably will be fulfilled in the life of Hon. David hitch freely. This is premised on the fact that he has and still deflating the tyres of poverty, chord of pain, self centeredness and non challant representation.

In the words of John Heywood, “one good term deserves another.” The success necessity of Hon. David Zachariah in 2023 elections unarguably is the greatest assignment before Idah Federal Constituency’s electorate. We must vote wisely.
