Osinbanjo canvasses support for Bello, Onoja

Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo has urged the people of Kogi State to vote massively for Governor Yahaya Bello and his deputy, Chief Edward Onoja in the forthcoming gubernatorial election for the continuity of good governance.

Osinbanjo who made the remark on Saturday in Idah Local Government Area at the official campaign flag off ceremony of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the election in few weeks, told party members to work tirelessly for the party’s victory.

The Vice President who spoke to the crowd along with Governors of Niger, Yobe, Nasarawa, Kwara, and Ekiti states, amongst other APC bigwigs appealed to the people to go out enmasse and vote the party’s candidates in the forthcoming election scheduled for November 16.

He said: ‘’I’m not here on my instruction, but on the instruction of President Muhammadu Buhari. We are done with the preliminary. I believe we all are ready for the next level?

“On that day of election, we all must go out, to our various polling units to vote. Every single one of you should vote Governor Yahaya Bello to emerge victorious from the election, so that we all can hear and celebrate the good news, that will usher the state into another phase of development,” he concluded.

In his address, Governor Yahaya Bello said: “My government is about the downtrodden. The sons and daughters of the ‘Talakawas’ same as Baba Buhari. When we came on board we inherited problems and we have been on ground doing the work, solving these problems and create better opportunity for citizens.

“We are all aware of APC programmes and laudable achievements since 2015 till date. We have performed creditably well, better than what previous administration did in 16 years.”

“The 5.6 kilometre bridge from Idah to Agenigbode that will be constructed will revamp and revive the economy of the place when completed in 13 months.”

“I have great confidence in all of you, that come November 16 & 17 there will be goodnews as you all throw the weight of your support behind our ambition,” he added.
