PAAYEF begins training of 21 youths in tailoring

Youths across Kogi State are set to receive training in tailoring, fashion design sponsored by the Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuku Youth Empowerment Foundation (PAAYEF), in partnership with the Kogi State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development the InsideStory News reports.

The twenty one youths, who are drawn from the twenty one local government areas of Kogi State, began a six months-long comprehensive training today at D Yem Fashion Home, with all expenses paid for by PAAYEF.

PAAYEF Focal Person, Hon. Sandra Mimi, who was received along with the trainees at the Ministry by Mr Olumoko S.A, Ag Dir. Rehab, said the programme is designed to assist youths who are interested in acquiring skills in sewing to compete in the fashion and design industry locally and internationally through proper training.

She said PAAYEF’s founder, Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuku is passionate about helping young people to pursue their dreams and become self-reliant, adding that the Foundation is optimistic that the training would enable them to manage their finances and transform their tailoring skills into successful business enterprises, thereby creating a web of entrepreneurs in the state.

The participants expressed gratitude to PAAYEF for supporting their dreams of learning the skill, promising to utilize the opportunity to the fullest.

Recall that PAAYEF has been involved in series of youth empowerment programs through scholarships, trainings and other health outreaches aimed at supporting the development of young people in the state.
