Police parade killer of popular Kogi businessman, owner of Chucks Supermarket

The killer of popular Kogi business mogul, late Nicholas Ofodile (Chuck’s supermarket) who was killed last month along Lokoja – Abuja highway has been arrested by the police.

Nicholas was killed in the early hour of Wednesday, June 10 by the gunmen who also kidnapped some passengers from another vehicle. His death which was initially mentioned as a kidnapping -gone -wrong have now been confirmed as a direct assassination.

Speaking with Journalists in his office, Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Ede Ayuba, while parading Twenty Eight Suspected criminal, said one of the suspect, Vincent Omogor was responsible for Nicholas Ofodile assassination.

He said Omogor was arrested following intelligence gathering embarked upon by SARS, working in synergy with vigilantee group in Orehi, Kogi LGA, who arrested Vincent Omogor, an indigene of Asaba, Delta State.

According to the CP, the suspect confessed to the crime of assassination and mentioned his cohorts who are still at large; that carried out the dasterdly act.

Ede said investigation into the case to arrest the other perpetrators is still on, assured of the unrelenting efforts of the Police to make the state safe in the hands kidnappers.

Omogor when interviewed said an apprentice serving with Chucks Supermarket contracted them to kill his master, Nicholas Ofodile, for refusing to give him money to treat his sick father.

He said the apprentice was angst when his father later died, “he (the apprentice) became angry that if Chucks had given him the money, his father would have lived. Consequently, he contracted us, gave us his traveling itinerary, which helped in the assassination.”

Omogor said Chuck’s tried to forcefully reverse his car on sighting them, but ran into another blockade from their members who approached him from the rear, and shot him dead.”

The apprentice whose name was not revealed is presently said to be on the run
