Kogi State Chief of Staff, Pharm. Abdulkareem Mohammed Jamiu has congratulated Muslims all across the Country, particularly faithfuls in Kogi State over the commencement of this year’s Ramadan season while he admonished them to offer prayers for country and state.

The Chief of Staff’s felicitation and admonishment was contained in a press statement signed by him on Friday.

He noted that in such a time when the world was being ravaged by coronavirus and other threats to human life, Muslim faithful should offer earnest prayers for the preservation of humanity.

Pharm. Jamiu opined that the season of Ramadan was special in the Islamic calendar and it signified a period of dedication to the teachings of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH).

The COS enjoined that the act of generosity and charity particularly to the less privileged, vulnerable, orphans should be undertaken by Muslims as this would go a long way to offer succor to those in these categories.

He mentioned that the Ramadan season was such that teaches sacrifice, empathy for those who are less fortunate, noting that characters of self discipline as well as self control were also taught.

Ramadan according to the COS was also a time of spiritual reflection, self-improvement as devotes were often equipped with a more tolerant, accommodating and peaceful spirit which would further foster peaceful co-existence.

He asserted that the Government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello would continue to explore the needed avenue to ensure that the people of the state were not left to their fate in this period and beyond in the wake of the current global realities.

Pharm Jamiu prayed to the Almighty Allah to grant all Muslim Ummah answers to their silent prayers as well as good health to fulfill the demands of the season.
