Ramadan: Onoja feeds 200 indigent Muslims

Muslim faithful have been urged to engage in acts of charity and self reflection during this month of Ramadhan and beyond.

Kogi State deputy governor, Chief Edward Onoja gave the admonition in a message during the breaking of Ramadhan fasting at Okpo, Olamaboro local government area of the state.

Mr. Onoja who commended Muslims faithful in the state for their positive contributions towards socio political, and economic development of the state, urged them to love one another and continue to intensity prayers against the deadly Coronavirus that is ravaging the word.

The Cordinator Edward Onoja Ramadhan feeding program Mallama Iyoma Yahaya explained that Mr. Onoja has approved the feeding of over 200 indigents Muslim on daily basis since the commencement of this year’s Ramadan fast.

He said the gesture which was second to none of it’s kind was aimed at reducing the burden of fasting on the Muslim in the area.

The items for the Ramadhan meal parkage includes: Rice, tea, bread among others.

In a remark, The Deputy Chief Imam of okpo central mosque, Alhaji Abdul Obera congratulated the state Governor and his Deputy, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and Mr. Edward Onoja on their successful one hundred days in office and prayed Allah to continue to guide them.

The Cleric also reminded Muslims to maintain all Safety measures put up by the Government and the NCDC against the Coronavirus as they observe Ramadan programmes in faith to Allah.
