Security remain foremost in administration’s effort, gov. Bello assures NMA
Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello has reiterated that security remained at the forefront of his administration as part of it’s continued effort to ensure a safer state for professionals and all its citizens.
The governor made this known on Tuesday while receiving delegations of the State’s Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in a meeting in government House, Lokoja
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Pharm. Abdulkareem Mohammad Jamiu, governor Bello again reassured NMA and by extension citizenry that government would continue to dedicate all efforts and resources necessary to strengthen the security of the state.
While appreciating the team for the cordial relationship the association has maintained with the state government, he promised that same gesture would be sustained as communication gaps between both parties would be bridged.
Speaking on behalf of The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) the state chairman Dr. Abubakar Hassan pointed out that professionals were more at the risk of kidnappers and other criminal attacks, hence government should do it’s best in that regards.
The NMA state chairman commended the efforts of the Governor Bello’s administration in not just promptly reacting to security situations but by being proactive to make sure criminal attacks and activities are prevented.
Dr. Hassan similarly hailed the state government on the recent renaissance in the health sector, noting that the administration has made huge investment in health Infrastructures including the upgraded state Specialist Hospital, the Kogi State University Teaching Hospital and the constructed 300 bed space Reference Hospital Okene amongst many others.
