SSA Youth Empowerment Familiarise With Stakeholder Ministries, Agencies

On Thursday, the Special Assistant to Governor Yahaya Bello on Youth Empowerment, Kogi West, Comrade Amodu Ibikunle Abubakar paid a courtesy visit to the Managing Director/CEO Kogi Enterprise Development Agency (KEDA) Hajia Rekiya Onaivo Sanni in a bid to discuss areas of collaborations on youth empowerment matters in the state.

He noted that the visit was prompted and necessitated to identify, discuss and collaborate on strategic relationship between the two offices seeking ways to promote and support youths empowerment within the state.

The MD/CEO described the visit as timely and significant at a period where youths who are mostly entrepreneurs, job seekers had being badly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

She said the Nigeria Covid-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) by the State Government which her office would be implementing the Result Area III aimed to support government programs that allow small businesses to resume activities.

She noted further that it would enhance the ability of local enterprises to fully resume their economic activities during and potentially beyond the crisis period.

She also emphasized that the program had youths and women as its primary beneficiary.

The MD/CEO further advised that he visited other implementing agencies across the state for the N-CARES result areas to enable him tap in the disbursement link indicator that captured more youths

During similar visit to the Commisioner for agriculture, Hon. David Apeh, the SSA was enlightened on various available programs, grant centered which the youth could benefit greatly from while urging him to further take the sensitisation to the youth for them to make the most of them.

Comrade Amodu Ibikunle Abubakar appreciated the MD/CEO, expressing that the purpose of his visit was already yielding good fruit and hope for the growth of youth in Kogi State.

He said he has being saddle with the responsibility to spur growth through such and many other government interventions, opportunities withing and outside the state
