Supreme Court Verdict: COS Congratulates Governor Yahaya Bello Describe Victory As Well Deserved

The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kogi State, Chief Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku Moh’d Jamiu, on Monday, congratulated Governor Yahaya Bello, on his victory at the Supreme Court, Abuja.

According to the Chief of Staff, the victory of the Governor at the Supreme Court was expected and well deserved while he expressed gratitude to God for making the Governor come out victorious, hence sustaining the do more mantra of his noble and people oriented administration.

He made this known In a Press Statement by his Special Assistant, Abubakar Yahaya Mujahid.

The Chief of Staff said, “he was very sure the Governor was going to pull through at the Supreme Court where he was dragged to by Engr. Musa Wada of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP despite the overwhelming support enjoyed by the Governor from the people of Kogi state which translated to victory in the November 16 Governorship election in the state.”

“It is a great day for democracy and the people of Kogi State. The affirmation by the highest Court is in line with yearnings of the good people of Kogi State. The highest court in the country has finally settled the controversies surrounding the Kogi governorship election and affirmed Governor Yahaya Bello as the true winner of the election as expressed by the people of the state at the poll.” he said.

Pharm. Asuku expressed confidence, Gov. Yahaya Bello would certainly accelerate the pace of development in Kogi State as proven by his developmental strides despites destractions noting that now that there would be no more unnecessary distractions, the people would be amazed again at the wind of development at all facets that would blow across the state.

The Chief of Staff pointed out some unmatched developmental strides achieved by the youngest Governor including the rehabilitation and road construction in different parts of the state with a vision of ensuring safety of motorist, lives, easy transportation of goods and services, the provision of pipe-borne water in virtually every community, the Rehabilitation and building of Schools across the state in enhancing education and making learning and teaching attractive and encouraging, the Rehabilitation of Health Care facilities and building clinics in Rural Areas to meet up with health needs of the people of the state, the Project Light-Up Kogi East that is almost completed, the Reference Hospital under construction in Okene.

Others enlisted were the Confluence University that was recently signed into law to ensure the speed of development, the prompt payment of salaries despite shortfalls in revenue, the progressive curve of GDP of the state, proving a steady rise on economy growth of the state, the relative peace enjoyed by the good people of Kogi state

He stated that these have proven, Gov. Bello had been performing extremely well despites distractions from court related cases and the supreme court ruling today has ushered in a special moment for the hard-working governor to perform excellently well in continuation of the development of Kogi State.

“The Governor needs everybody’s support now occasioned by the finality of the Supreme Court ruling. I have no doubt in my mind, the governor will tackle the welfare of the people and address any challenge in a measurable and more impactful manner,” he assured.

Pharm. Asuku also urged the PDP candidate and challenger to accept the judgment in good fate and cooperate with the Governor in the task of making Kogi State an enviable one.

The Chief of Staff however urged the people of the state to rally round the Governor, stating the time for politics is over and it is time for governance collective contributions to the development of the state irrespective of party affiliations.
