Teachers recruitment will conclude before Christmas – Kogi govt says
Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Wemi Jones says the recruitment of teachers into secondary schools will be concluded before Christmas.
Mr. Jones made this known while briefing Newsmen shortly after defending the Budget of his Ministry before the House Committee on Education, Science and Technology.
The Commissioner noted that successful candidates will soon get their appointment letters, while induction training will be done immediately.
According to him, the recruitment was done in tandem with international standard towards meeting the yearnings and aspirations of the people in the education sector.
The Commissioner pointed out that in the next fiscal year, attention will be focused on development of basic education.
He said a lot has changed in the education system of the State in the outgoing year with one hundred accreditation of courses in all the State owned tertiary institutions.
He noted that to prepare the young generation for the forthcoming industrial revolution, government has adopted the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
