Team JB holds annual prayer for Governor Yahaya Bello

A group of like minds known as Team JB on Saturday, January 2nd, 2021, gathered Muslims in Kogi Central Senatorial District to hold a special prayers session for Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.

InsideStoryNg correspondent in Okene reported that the special prayer was held at the residence of the Accountant General of the State, Hon. Jibrin Momoh.

The special prayer session for the Governor, which begun at exactly 9:20 am, lasted for three hours.

According to Jimoh Mohammed who spoke to our correspondent on behalf of ‘Team JB, he said the special prayer which is sponsored by the Accountant General of the, Alhaji Momoh Jibrin is organized annually to pray for divine wisdom and protection for Governor Yahaya Bello, political appointees from Kogi Central, and for the overall peace in Ebira land.

He said, “This gathering is very important because it creates the avenue for us to seek the face of Allah for divine wisdom and protection for the Governor and all our sons and daughters who are working with him, and for the general peace of the state.

“No one leads except Allah has ordained, and in other not to go astray and lose favor with God, we the followers must have to pray for our leaders to enable them lead well. Especially as we are happy with their leadership.”

He affirmed that prayer is the foundation upon which Governor Yahaya Bello stand, saying that the sky will be his limit.

On his part, Engineer Sule Aliyu, Chairman, Kogi Central Supreme Council of Elders said Governor Yahaya Bello is a devine leader whose emergence has brought great development to Ebira land in particular and Kogi State in general, adding that the prayer which has been an annual event was to pray for the success of the New Direction Government.

Similarly, the Managing Director of Kogi ADP, Mr. Bello Ogirimsa said the special prayers called by the Accountant General cuts across all strata of Ebira land, saying that outside the collective prayer for the success of Yahaya Bello, it is also another avenue for the unification of Ebiraland. He commended the AG for the annual prayer and urged him to keep the flame burning.

Chairman of Okene local government, Engr. Abdulrazaq Mohammed said that this year’s prayer was special because it coincided with the call of the people on Governor Yahaya Bello to contest for presidency, saying that the prayer will guide the Governor in taking critical leadership and administrative decisions.

The Chief Imam of Okene Central Mosque led other Muslim faithful in the prayer.
