University of Jos alumni to hold lecture solid minerals in honour of Kogi Deputy Governor

The University of Jos Alumni Association will on Thursday, 2nd September 2021, hold a lecture in honour of the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward Onoja.

A statement to that effect was contained in a press statement signed and made available to newsmen in Lokoja by the Chairman, Lectures Planning Committee of the alumni association, Dr. Aurelius Omali.

The statement noted that josites and stakeholders in the solid mineral sector of Kogi State would gather at the Main Auditorium of the Federal University Lokoja for a 2021 Special Distinguished Alumni Lecture Series in Honour of the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Chief Edward Onoja.

The Lecture which is organized in conjunction with the Geology Department university is aimed at creating awareness on the potentials of mining in Kogi State and its potentials as the main business for the State and its neighbours if well harnessed .

The lecture with the theme; ‘Mining in Kogi state: Challenges and Prospects’ is scheduled to commence by 2pm and would be presented by Prof. Nuhu George Obaje, Professor of Geology and Chair Professor for Basinal Studies, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai.

The Lecture is proposed to be under the Chairmanship of His Royal Highness, Engr. (Dr) Idowu Isenibi, JP, the Bajana of Obajana, the community that houses the largest cement industry in Africa.
