In a move aimed at strengthening women entrepreneurship and reducing economic hardship, the wife of the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kogi State, Hajiya Ayisha Ali Bello, has empowered hundreds of women across Kogi Central Senatorial District with business support items and cash assistance.

The empowerment programme, which held in Okene on Wednesday, saw beneficiaries receive industrial sewing machines, grinding machines, bags of rice, cash gifts and other items to support small-scale businesses and improve household income.

The event attracted political stakeholders, community leaders, women groups and residents from different parts of the senatorial district who commended the initiative as timely and impactful.

Addressing participants at the gathering, Hajiya Ayisha Ali Bello said empowering women economically remains one of the most effective ways of promoting community development and family stability.

She explained that the outreach was designed to encourage women to become self-reliant and financially independent through productive ventures and vocational activities.

According to her, supporting women, particularly vulnerable persons and small business owners, would help improve living conditions and contribute positively to the local economy.

Many of the beneficiaries expressed excitement over the gesture, describing the empowerment programme as a major relief amid current economic realities.

Some beneficiaries said the sewing and grinding machines received would help them either establish or expand their businesses, while others noted that the cash support and food items would assist their families.
