TEAM ANTIDOTE Endorses Yahaya Bello for Kogi Central Senate in 2027

TEAM ANTIDOTE has endorsed former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello, for the Senate seat representing Kogi Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections.

The group announced the endorsement during a courtesy visit to Bello in Abuja on Sunday, where it also unveiled plans for grassroots mobilisation, youth engagement and issue-based sensitisation across the five local government areas of Kogi Central.

Speaking on behalf of the organisation, its Convener and Founder, Mrs Zubeida Yakubu, formally presented the group’s roadmap to the former governor and said TEAM ANTIDOTE had chosen to support his Senate ambition.

Yakubu described Bello as a leader who, in the group’s view, changed the political narrative of Kogi State.

“He is a leader who brought unity where there was division, healing where there was pain, and progress where there was stagnation. That is why in TEAM ANTIDOTE, we call you THE ANTIDOTE,” she said.

She said the group’s planned activities include door-to-door campaigns, Permanent Voter Cards mobilisation, youth engagement and issue-based sensitisation across Kogi Central.

Responding, Bello welcomed the group and pledged to guide its members in carrying out their responsibilities.

He also commended TEAM ANTIDOTE for what he described as its efforts in sensitisation, mobilisation and empowerment, and formally adopted the organisation as part of the broader movement for the progress of Kogi Central.

“Be law-abiding. Spread the message of hope, peace, and progress. Unite our people. Politics should bring us together, not divide us,” Bello told the group.

Also at the meeting was Pharm. Jamiu Abdulkareem Asuku, a former Chief of Staff to the Kogi State Governor.

Asuku welcomed the involvement of young people in what he described as selfless service and urged TEAM ANTIDOTE to intensify its sensitisation efforts on Bello’s record in Kogi Central.

He specifically highlighted what he described as Bello’s role in restoring peace and order to the zone compared with the situation before 2015.

TEAM ANTIDOTE subsequently reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots mobilisation and said it would work towards ensuring that Kogi Central “speaks with one voice” in the 2027 elections.
