Ujah Day 2019: Gov Bello harps on unity, love and sacrifice

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State have called on the people of the state to foster the unity and love amongst themselves and to also imbibe the culture of sacrifice for the betterment of the state.

He said peace and unity is the foundation for sustainable development, hence the need to embrace the EBIGO lifestyle for rapid development of Kogi State.

Bello gave this charge today during the 2019 Ujah Okpabana Descendants Development Association cultural day celebration held
in Okenyi, Ankpa local government area of Kogi State.

The governor who was represented by his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja commended Ujah Akpabana descendants for promoting peace and unity among the people and called on them to remain steadfast.

He advised the youths to focus on developing themselves mentally by acquiring skills that would make them self sufficient

He noted that the administration of governor Yahaya Bello will continue to provide quality infrastructure across the state, calling on the people to give their support to the government to quicken the development of the area.

The Deputy Governor made a donation for the construction of a town hall and recreational center in Okenyi and promised to mobilize his friends to also support.

He said unity remains a veritable tool for the development of any society, hence the need for the annual get-together where Ujah sons and daughters from far and near come together to renew ties and refresh on their history.

Earlier in his address, Chairman of the occasion, Major General Patrick Adamu Akpa, said the annual cultural day celebration was an avenue for all Ujah descendants to come together, merry and chart a way forward.

General Akpa appreciated the government of Yahaya Bello for not leaving Ankpa behind in his development plans, and pledged that the people of Okenyi will continue to support the government to succeed.

While calling on the youths to be hardworking and committed to achieving a brighter future, he urged the elders in the society to preach unity among the people and unite for the betterment of Okenyi, Ankpa local government and the state at large.
