Kogi LG Election: Kogi CoS wants administrators to unite all political actors before poll

For the All Progressives Congress (APC) to have a clean sweep of all the twenty-one Local Government Areas in the forthcoming Local polls, Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Pharm Abdulkareeem Asuku has enjoined all administrators in the state to close ranks with all political actors in their councils.

He said the fact that the APC is in power in the state notwithstanding, Council Bosses have a lot of work to do to create a soft landing for the party’s candidates in the election, noting that the second tenure of Governor Bello is to create a lasting legacy of peaceful coexistence and harmonious relationships among the citizens.

Pharm Asuku made the assertion this Thursday in Lokoja at a meeting he held with the administrators in his office where he further urged them on the need to provide necessary democracy dividends to the people.

The Chief of Staff who stressed the need for a tranquil environment for good governnace to take root in the state said Governor Yahaya Bello is determined to ensure the maintenance of peaceful atmosphere in all parts of the state without any unnecessary political distractions.

To him, it doesn’t matter what party anybody belongs, he noted that Kogi belonged to all and urged the administrators to see themselves as leaders of everyone irrespective of differences, adding it is the only way to move Kogi State forward.

He further admitted that the state government and APC as a party understand it is not going to be easy irrespective of what they do, but urged stakeholders to reconcile with even opponents wherever they are and whatever group they belonged as that is the only way the administration could live a lasting legacy for the citizens.

Speaking on behalf of the administrators, the administrator of Olamaboro Local Government Area, Hon Adejoh Friday Nicodemus had earlier congratulated the Chief of Staff for his appointment and the re – inauguration of Governor Yahaya Bello and his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja for another term.

He said they were also in his office to express gratitude for the support they have continued to enjoy from Governor Bello – led government and expressed the loyalty of himself and his colleagues at all times.
