Enlightenment Students Association confer Excellence Awards on Gov Bello's Students Aide, Comrade Babangida; dedicates award to Gov's Chief of Staff »

The Enlightenment Students Association in Okene Local Government of Kogi State on Wednesday held its Annual Quiz Competition where the leadership conferred a Special Award on the SSA to Kogi State Governor on Students, Comrade Isah Babangida Onimisi in recognition of his contribution to students unionism and efforts to better their welfare.

The overwhelmed Comrade Babangida who expressed gratitude to the body for the gesture, dedicated the award to the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pharmacist Abdulkareem Jamiu Asuku.

The President of the Association, Yusuf Promise Adinoyi who further described the SSA as a man whose tremendous contribution to the association in the past prompted the award, appealed to him to continue in that direction.

According to the President, Ebira land needs people in the mould of Comrade Babangida, who he said has unique characteristic as a man with empathy and ready to take everybody along in scheme of things.

He said Comrade Babangida has shown that leadership is about service and the best anybody in position of authority could do was to reach out to the less fortunate especially those in the rural areas as Comrade Babangida is continually doing.

Comrade Adinoyi therefore expressed confidence that the SSA would not betray the opportunity given to him by Governor Yahaya Bello, as he is sure to make the best of the position.

On his part, Patron of the Association described the SSA as a man who strives to make welfare of Kogi State students better by contributing immensely, a gesture that he noted, has endeared him to many.

He then praised the decision of the executive to confer the award on the SSA, saying it would go a long way in encouraging him and others to do more to impact their society.

Reacting to the award, Comrade Isah Babangida expressed gratitude to the association which he tied to why the Chief of Staff to the Govenor, Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuku saw and gave his nod for his current portfolio.

Comrade Babangida was particularly grateful to the Chief of Staff for his unwavering support to issues that concern Kogi State Students welfare, and urged the youths in the state to continue to give their overwhelming support to the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello because of its unique interest in the next generation.

The awardee then further assured the association of the commitments of Governor Yahaya Bello to ensure suitable and conducive learning environment for students of Kogi state because education is the bedrock of every society.
