“We join the rest of the world to commemorate the International Women’s Day(IWD), under the theme – DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality. It is focused on prioritizing, promoting and improving women’s role in the digital world. While we recognize the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, there’s the need to advocate for women’s needs through digital innovations, as well as a call to action to accelerate gender equality”, Hajiya Rekiya said.
International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 as a focal point in the women’s rights movement, bringing attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women.
