Kogi Deputy Governor Joel Salifu Receives Ogah-Achadu Oko Atta Title
The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Comrade Joel Salifu, has been honoured with the traditional title of Ogah-Achadu Oko Atta by his clan in Idah, Kogi State’s.
The title, accompanied by the salutation “Dooga!”, was conferred on Salifu by the Traditional Prime Minister of Igala Kingdom, Achadu Oko Atta, His Royal Highness Alih Yusuf Ameh Adaji III, at his palace in Idah.
The ceremony coincided with the third anniversary of the Achadu Oko Atta on the throne and attracted political leaders, party supporters, friends and other dignitaries from across the state.
Among those present were former Kogi State Deputy Governor, Chief Edward David Onoja, and National Leader of Ukomu Igala Organisation, Major General James Alilu Ataguba (Rtd), alongside other prominent Igala sons and daughters.
The traditional title was presented as a mark of honour and recognition for Salifu’s contributions to his people, as well as his commitment to the development of his clan and Kogi State.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Achadu Oko Atta described the conferment as an expression of the clan’s appreciation and honour for Salifu.
Responding, the Deputy Governor thanked the traditional institution, his clan, family, friends and supporters for the recognition.
Salifu reaffirmed his commitment to promoting peace, unity and development among the people.
He also expressed appreciation to the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for finding him worthy to serve as his deputy.
The Deputy Governor further thanked the immediate past governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, whom he described as the architect of his present political journey.
