I don’t know what you know or think about this man called Chief Edward Onoja CIK, but I am pleased to tell you whom I know him to be and still is: he is a detribalised Kogite, a GIVER, a man who is intellectually sophisticated of the super superb order, an epitome of courage, doggedness, humaness and a philanthropist, an advocate of peaceful coexistence and a defender of the cause of the masses.

HOW HE HELPED ME.

In 2006 I was serving as an attendant in one of the leading petrol station in the heart of Lokoja, Uncle Eddy now CEDO, a very handsome and intelligent banker who happens to be my very good customer said to me on one of his many visits “O boy do you have an account for savings in order to further your education?” and I replied “No Uncle.”
After my reply he gave me N2,000 to open a GT Bank savings account to start some savings towards my education. He further paid for my first Jamb form which I passed but was denied admission to study at University of Jos.

He was out of Lokoja for some time as I couldn’t get to see him until 2008. When I stumbled on him in town, he asked “O boy what level are you now?” I replied that I wasn’t offered admission. He said “You will have to try again because quiters don’t win and winners don’t quit.” Surprisingly, he gave me another money to get Jamb form for the second time saying “this time you will be admitted” which I chorused a resounding and believing Amen. Undoubtedly, the money and prayers did work as I passed and got admitted to Kogi State University, Anyigba.

All these he did without asking where I am from or who my parents were, I am sure he has been doing that before he did that for me, today it’s glaring that he hasn’t changed, he is still the GIVER that I knew back then.

HATE OR LIKE CEDO, that he is handsome, intelligent, master strategist, rewarder of results, detribalised enigma, capacity truck loaded administrator, a technocrat in his field of endeavour and above all a GIVER is incontestable and incontrovertible.

Your Excellency Sir, I pray for you: may your armour remain strong, steadfast and shining forever.

May you remain a great source of inspiration to those who aspire to make marks under the sun.
