My Life Was Over Until God, through Chief Onoja, said ‘NO!’ – Sadiq Momoh Abdulrobani

My name is Sadiq Momoh Abdulrobani from Ajaokuta LGA area of Kogi State. I am Ebira by tribe. I am also a practicing Muslim. I was not trained to be ungrateful, which is why I will continue to sing CEDO’s praises anytime I have the opportunity to do so.

He literally saved my life.

On the 28th of September, 2021, my life flashed before my eyes. I was riding my motorcycle and as I proceeded to exit Adankolo junction, another motorcycle rammed into me at high speed. For a moment I thought I was dead, but then I heard people screaming. Alas, my left leg had been crushed to pieces and it was a wonder that the bone was not broken. All the tendons, viens and sinews that made up my left leg had been severed, and blood gushed out like a tap.

I was immediately rushed to FMC Lokoja, and upon examination, a pronouncement was made that my leg was to be amputated as there was nothing they could do to help me. I was faced with a double dilemma.

If they cut my leg, how was I going to sustain myself and my family? Was that how I was going to become a cripple overnight?
Secondly, even if they cut it, how, I wondered, was I ever going to pay for the procedure?

In the midst of my confusion, I placed a call through to the then Director of Protocol to the Deputy Governor and now elected member of the House of Assembly representing Ajaokuta, Hon. Jibril Abu and explained the issue at hand. He rushed down to see for himself and, with my permission, took a photo and sent it to His Excellency, Chief Edward David Onoja’s Whatsapp. HE replied immediately, asking what had happened?

After narrating the ordeal, he asked for an immediate solution. He was informed that they suggested that the leg be amputated, to which he rejected without delay. He asked for me to be transferred immediately to one of the top hospitals in Abuja for proper treatment, but we were advised that delay could be dangerous and the leg could still end up being amputated. To that end, he ordered for me to be moved to one of the best private hospitals in Lokoja, and that was how I was transferred to Shifaah Hospital. I was promptly operated upon, my tendons restored, skin grafting employed to cover gaping holes and strong drugs to help with the pain. This was where I spent the next Four months of my life, receiving some of the best care money can buy.

In the end, Chief Edward David Onoja spent close to, if not more than One Million Naira on someone whom he had never met, spoken to or had any sentimental attachment. At the hospital, many visited and asked what business I had with him that made him take my case so seriously, and most of them wouldn’t believe when I said there was nothing, he was just a man who has always volunteered himself as a vessel to be used to ameliorate the sufferings of the common man.

To this day, I do not know how my life would have turned out if they had cut off my left leg. I look at it sometimes and say a prayer for this man called CEDO. Because of his act of kindness, I was given another chance at life. I now walk on both feet with only the scars as proof of how I was saved from the devil’s grasp.

His Excellency, Chief Edward David Onoja, is a man blessed by God. He saved my life and that of many others without asking who we were or what benefit we could contribute. My only prayer is for Almighty Allah to continue to guide his path and grant him all his heart desires. He will never know lack, and on the days, just like today, when he needs people to repay just a bit of what he has contributed to society, I pray that he will not be stranded.

God bless you Sir.

This is my testCEDOnial.
