Kogi state govt. commence succession process of Ohinoyi stool

The Kogi State government have announced the commencement of the succession process of the stool of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland following the recent demise of the late Ohinoyi, Alhaji Ado Ibrahim.

This was made known on Monday in a press statement signed by Enero Rufai Sule the media aide to the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Bar. Deedat Ozigi.

The press statement reads ‘’The Honourable Commissioner Barr. S.M Ozigi Deedat with the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Tijjani Habibat O and the Director of Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Enimola Eniola interfaced with the Ebira Area Traditional Council at the Palace of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland to initiate succession procedure to enthrone the next Ohinoyi of Ebiraland’’.

He noted that the Honourable Commissioner after reading out the edict that guides the Stool, constituted and inaugurated the committee of King Makers to commence an immediate work of receiving and scrutinizing application letters from interested and eligible Sons of Ebiraland, as prescribed my the law.

Enero hinted that the committee’s work is expected to last through the week till Friday, the 15th of December, 2023 whereby their recommendations will be received by the Ministry, for onward treatment.
