We Will Use Infrastructure Development to Sustain Kogi Disability Law — Works Commissioner

The Kogi State Commissioner for Works, Honourable Engr. Muhammed Ahovi Yusuf, has revealed that his Ministry would uphold the Disabilities Law via Infrastructure Development in the State.

Engineer Yusuf made this revelation in Lokoja on Thursday while receiving the executives of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) Kogi State Chapter on a courtesy visit.

Yusuf who further noted that his ministry would intensify more efforts to make life more bearable for the group in infrastructural designs also assured them of more dividends of Democracy in this new administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Yusuf reaffirmed his commitment to creating an enabling environment that would give equal and adequate opportunities to Persons with Disabilities in the state for the fulfillment of their dreams and aspirations in the area of infrastructure.

Recall that on June 4, 2019, the former Governor of Kogi State, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello signed into law, a bill to establish disability office, guarantee and protect the rights of Persons Living with Disabilities.

Responding, the chairman of JONAPWD Comrade Yahaya Solomon O. Congratulated the newly appointed commissioner for works Hon. Engr Muhammed Ahovi Yusuf.

Comrade Solomon also appealed to the honorable commissioner to put their members into consideration in all the programs and projects of the State most especially in the area of job creation.
