Kogi NYCN Forum of 21 LGAs Coordinators Organizes Special Prayers for Ododo’s Victory Ahead of Supreme Court Judgement
In anticipation of the Supreme Court’s judgment slated for tomorrow, August 23, on the election petition brought by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and its governorship candidate, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, the Kogi State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has organized a special prayer session for the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Alhaji Usman Ododo.
The prayer event, which took place in Lokoja, was attended by NYCN local government coordinators from across the state, as well as various youth leaders and supporters of the APC. The atmosphere was charged with faith and determination, as participants prayed fervently for the Supreme Court to uphold the victory of Alhaji Usman Ododo in the November 11, 2023, governorship election.
Speaking at the event, the Coordinator of Adavi LGA, who is also the Chairman of the forum of local government coordinators, Comrade Ismail Mohammed Almustapha, emphasized the significance of the prayers, stating that they were seeking divine intervention to ensure that the will of the people, as expressed through the electoral process, is affirmed by the highest court in the land.
“We believe in the judicial system, and we trust that the Supreme Court will deliver justice. However, as people of faith, we are here today to seek God’s guidance and favor for our candidate, Alhaji Usman Ododo, whose victory we believe is in the best interest of Kogi State,” Comrade Mustapha remarked.
The prayer session featured recitations from the Holy Qur’an and fervent prayers led by various religious leaders, who prayed for peace, unity, and the continued progress of Kogi State under the leadership of Alhaji Ododo.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Anyebe several, expressed optimism that the Supreme Court would rule in favor of the APC and urged supporters to remain peaceful and law-abiding as they await the court’s decision.
Other youth leaders including the state chairman of NYCN all praised the youth friendly programs of the governor and expressed optimism in the victory of Alhaji Usman Ododo.
