Kogi Sponsors 10 Youths for National Automotive Conference

The Kogi State Government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has disclosed that it sponsored 10 youths who participated in the conference on “Harnessing Youth Potentials and Career Prospects in the Nigerian Automotive Sector.”

The two-day conference, which started on the 11th of September 2024, is currently ongoing at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Center in Abuja. The conference is organized by the National Automotive Design and Development Council in collaboration with the Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Youth Initiatives, Monitoring, and Delivery.

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Honourable Monday Aridaojo Anyebe, disclosed that the sponsorship was a significant move aimed at empowering the youth of Kogi State. He emphasized the commitment of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to youth development and stated that the chosen delegates would benefit greatly from the opportunity to gain skills and insights on opportunities within the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion value chain in the automotive industry.

“This conference will expose our youths to key career prospects in the automotive sector, especially in the CNG conversion and safety areas, which is in line with the future of clean energy and transportation. Kogi State will benefit as these young people return to apply the knowledge and skills acquired,” Anyebe said.

The conference, themed “Opportunities for Youth in the CNG Conversion Value Chain / Safety and Benefits in the Usage of CNG in the Automotive Sector”, focuses on advancing youth potential in the Nigerian automotive industry. The event features discussions on youth skills development, CNG conversion, and the associated safety and benefits of CNG usage in vehicles.
