Speaking to newsmen in Lokoja on Monday, Comrade Osiako praised Honourable Anyebe for his active engagement with Kogi’s young population, noting that under his leadership, the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has seen an unprecedented revival. “The ministry, once considered inactive, has now become a hub of activity, spearheading impactful programs aimed at youth development and sports promotion,” Osiako said.
Citing the successful hosting of several key initiatives, including the sensitization against drug abuse, the Youth Engagement Summit, International Youth Day celebrations, Students Parley and the recent Sports Summit, Comrade Osiako expressed his admiration for the commissioner’s efforts. “These programs have not only brought youths together but have given them a platform to voice their concerns and be part of decision-making processes that affect their future,” he added.
The NYCN Deputy Chairman also stressed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting athletes and young persons with disabilities, particularly through their sponsorship of Kogi’s youth to national and international events. He noted that such initiatives have boosted the morale of young people across the state, as they feel recognized and supported by the government.
