The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lokoja Local Government has flagged off its campaigns for the October 19th Chairmanship election in Kogi State.

Speaking during the flag off, the party’s chairmanship candidate, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu assured the supporters that the party would win the election with landslide victory.

He noted that as it stands, the APC had no rival in view of the purposeful, result – oriented and people centered leadership being provided by the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

In addition to the development – oriented leadership by the Governor, the candidate also used the occasion to applaud the Governor for giving the party freedom to select candidates for chairmanship, vice Chairmanship and councillorship positions, which has deepened democracy in all the Wards and Local Government Areas of the state.

He promised that when elected, he would further domesticate the policies of the current administration in the state, and ensure the growth of democracy across the wards of the Local Government.

Comrade Abdul, as he is fondly called, also used the opportunity to assure the Governor that his colleagues from across the local councils of the state have resolved to be good ambassadors of the party and the government of Ahmed Ododo in their council areas.

The candidate also used the occasion to praise the leadership quality and the administrative acumen shown by the immediate past Governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his doggedness and vision in pointing out those that would carry forward his leadership style in the state.

He therefore promised to be loyal and committed to the cause of the APC and provide good governance that would attract improved infrastructure and other development indices for Lokoja Local Government.

He therefore thanked all party stakeholders, including the speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf; the APC leader for Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, Alhaji Suleiman Baba-Ali; the Local Government Party Chairman, Hon Maikudi Bature and others, for their show of love and passion for the ruling party and promised not to disappoint them.

The occasion was attended by the stakeholders, party loyalists, faithful, women and youth groups, among others.
