Hon Jibril Abus' Tireless Efforts Yielding Fruits as Ajaokuta Ultra-Modern Hospital Set to Open Soon »

In a significant development for the people of Ajaokuta Local Government, Hon. Jibril Abu, the esteemed Member Representing Ajaokuta State Constituency, has spearheaded efforts to bring the long-awaited ultra-modern Hospital, Badoko to operational status. Constructed under the visionary Leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, former Governor of Kogi State, the hospital’s journey to active function has been marked by persistent advocacy and strategic coordination.

Since assuming office as Ajaokuta State Lawmaker, Hon. Jibril Abu has been up in his commitment to seeing the hospital serve its intended purpose. He has had sleepless nights knowing that the activation of medical activities in the Hospital will save many of his Constituents in cost and their lives.

Recent engagements by him with key stakeholders, including the Commissioner for Health and the CMD of Hospital Management Board; Commissioner for Works; Honorable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development has been pivotal in expediting the necessary bureaucratic processes. These efforts has culminated in a concerted push to transfer essential drugs & equipment, currently housed at Confluence Hospital, Gegu to the Ultra Modern Hospital, Badoko.

Through his proactive approach and collaborative spirit with fellow Leaders of Ajaokuta, Hon. Jibril Abu has navigated challenges and overcome obstacles that delayed the hospital’s opening. As a result of these collective endeavors, it is with great optimism that the hospital is slated to commence operations on Tuesday, 26th February, 2025.

The Contractor is set to handover to the Minisries concerned to supervise the contract executed, then handed over to the Health Ministry.

Hon. Jibril Abu’s Leadership exemplifies dedication to quality representation and the well-being of his Constituents. His role in bringing this vital healthcare facility to fruition underscores his commitment to improving Healthcare delivery in Ajaokuta Local Government.

As the hospital prepares to open its doors, the people can look forward to enhanced access to quality Healthcare Services, marking history in Hon. Jibril Abu’s tenure and a taste to his effective representation.

It noteworthy that our son, Hon Saka, one time Captain of the Health Ministry initiated the relocation and upgrade of Cottage Hospital to its present location under the watch and approval of the Former Governor, H/E Yahaya Bello. Dr Saka’s tenure was however cut short during the administration’s cabinet reshufflement. The project has faced series of slow paced attention until likes of Hon Sanni Egidi A’raheem, Hon Jibril Abu, Hon Onyekehi A’Kareem and Hon Mustapha Akaaba initiated massive pressure on the immediate Commissioner for Health on why the project must be completed, and opened for use.

The concerted efforts later witnessed the arrival of the Commissioner for Housing and the LG Chairman who added their voices.
The cap the cake with more icing was the Legislative frown by the State House of Assembly to bring the contractor to book, having been paid, if the project is not submitted for inspection and opened for use.

Indeed, Hon Jibril Abu knows when the iron is red-hot and ready to be struck.

We thank the Government of Alhaji Usman Ododo, Executive Governor of Kogi State for ensuring the hospital gets the necessary attention it deserves. Knowing fully well that he is a no nonsense Governor, no contractor and bottlenecks can hamper development due Ajaokuta.
