Ododo Approves Education Support for Late APC Chairman’s Children, Job for Widow

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has approved educational support up to university level for the children of the late Divisional Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Dekina Local Government Area, Alhaji Yunusa Ishaq.

The governor also approved automatic employment for the deceased’s wife into the Kogi State Civil Service as part of measures to support the bereaved family.

Ododo announced the decisions during a condolence visit to the family of the late APC chieftain in Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area.

The governor, who was accompanied by top government officials, said the visit was on behalf of the Kogi State Government and people to commiserate with the family, the people of Dekina and members of the APC over the death.

He described Ishaq as a peaceful, committed and dedicated party leader who contributed to the development of his community and the growth of the APC.

According to Ododo, the deceased was a man of exemplary character whose service to his community and political organisation would remain indelible.

He said Ishaq’s death was not only a loss to his immediate family but also to the APC and the entire Dekina Local Government Area.

Ododo prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul and asked God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

The governor also appealed to traditional rulers and community leaders to continue promoting love, unity and peaceful coexistence among their subjects.

He stressed that sustainable development could only be achieved in an atmosphere of peace and harmony.

Earlier, the Eje of Dekina, Alhaji Usman Obaje, thanked Ododo for identifying with the people of Dekina during their period of grief.

The traditional ruler described the governor’s personal condolence visit as a demonstration of compassionate and responsive leadership.

On behalf of the family, Onu Yunusa, son of the deceased, thanked Ododo for the visit and the support extended to the family, praying for God’s continued guidance and protection for the governor.

In a related development, Ododo also paid a condolence visit to the family of the late APC Supervisory Councillor for Works in Dekina Local Government Area, Ahmed Abdullahi.
