Public Notice: Temporary Adjustment of Religious Activities in Remote Communities Across Dekina LGA
In view of recent security briefings and precautionary advisories received through appropriate Government channels, Dekina Local Government Council has approved a temporary adjustment to Christian fellowship gatherings in remote and hard-to-reach communities within the Local Government Area.
This decision is informed purely by preventive security considerations and the overriding need to safeguard lives, places of worship, and communal harmony. It is neither a religious policy nor an act directed against any faith group, but a measured step taken in the collective interest of public safety.
For the avoidance of doubt, NO religious activity of any kind is permitted to go on in distant, remote villages till further notice.
Residents are kindly urged to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative as security assessments continue.
The Local Government recognizes the importance of faith-based activities and regrets any discomfort this temporary measure may occasion.
All relevant security agencies within the Local Government Area are hereby notified and mandated to observe, guide, and monitor compliance accordingly.
Any deliberate disregard of this directive may attract appropriate measures as provided under existing security and administrative regulations.
This notice remains effective until further communication is issued.
Signed,
Hon John Urah Ikani.
Executive Chairman, Dekina Local Government Area..
