Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa Picks APC Senatorial Forms for Kogi East Race
Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa has formally picked the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial nomination and expression of interest forms to contest for the Kogi East Senatorial District seat. Speaking after completing the process, Dr. Alfa described the moment as a major step in a journey that has been focused on delivering effective and purposeful representation to the people of Kogi East.
He noted that from the outset, his aspiration has been driven by the need to address the long-standing gap in quality representation in the district, adding that the effort is aimed at opening a new chapter of opportunity and inclusion for the people.
Dr. Alfa explained that the decision to formally enter the race follows months of consultations across communities in Kogi East, where he engaged stakeholders, shared his vision, and listened to the concerns of the people. According to him, “Every process has its path, and every journey must show proof of movement. The forms picked today represent the receipt of a journey built on purpose, patience, and a strong commitment to service.”
He reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and his belief in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, noting that he has remained patient and respectful of the party’s internal processes.
Dr. Alfa stated that while he has allowed stakeholders the space to guide the direction of the party, the step taken to pick the nomination forms is necessary to move the process forward in line with his commitment to serve the people. He further assured that he would abide by the outcome of the party’s primary election, stressing his commitment to party supremacy whether he emerges as the APC candidate or not.
Addressing the people of Kogi East, Dr. Alfa maintained that his message remains unchanged, emphasising that his aspiration is centred on delivering real results, restoring confidence in leadership, and ensuring that the district has a strong voice in national affairs.
He also expressed appreciation to key leaders and stakeholders who have supported his journey over the past months, including the Vice President, Alhaji Kashim Shettima GCON, his mother and political guide Hajiya Halima Ikwuji Alfa, as well as prominent national figures such as Hajiya Hadiza Bala Usman, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, General Theophilus Danjuma, and General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.
Dr. Alfa stressed that his vision goes beyond campaign promises, noting that his commitment to development and service extends beyond the senatorial race.
“Everything I have said I will do still stands. This vision goes beyond promises. It does not start and end with this election. It is about a bigger dream that must be realised for the good of our people,” he said.
He concluded by reaffirming his readiness to serve and his determination to contribute meaningfully to the progress of Kogi East.
