Kogi Chief of Staff Inspect Projects at CUSTECH Teaching Hospital
The Kogi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure as the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Ali Bello, and the Commissioner for Health, Dr Adams Abdulazeez, inspected ongoing and completed projects at CUSTECH Teaching Hospital, Okene.
The officials were received by the Chief Medical Director (CMD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the teaching hospital, Dr Shaibu Stephen Babatunde, who briefed them on the current state of the facility and its operations.
Dr Shaibu subsequently led the delegation on an inspection tour of various projects that had been completed, as well as those still under construction at the hospital.
Speaking during the visit, the CMD commended the Kogi State Government for its investments in the health sector, noting that CUSTECH Teaching Hospital plays an important role in meeting the healthcare needs of residents of the state and beyond.
He also expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for Health for his efforts towards implementing the state’s health policies.
In his response, Ali Bello commended Dr Shaibu for his leadership of the hospital and the quality of healthcare services being provided at the facility.
The Chief of Staff also praised the hospital for maintaining a clean and healthy environment, stressing that the state government was committed to providing a conducive atmosphere for staff and students to support medical training, research and healthcare delivery.
He said improved healthcare infrastructure would contribute to enhancing the well-being of citizens across the state.
Bello also urged youths in the area to continue supporting efforts to maintain a secure environment around the institution, saying that a safe atmosphere would benefit the hospital and the people of Kogi State.
At the end of the inspection, Dr Shaibu, on behalf of the hospital’s management and staff, thanked the Chief of Staff for the visit and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to providing quality healthcare services.
He also assured the delegation of the hospital’s readiness for the forthcoming MBBS accreditation exercise, reiterating that the institution remained focused on its mission of serving the people and maintaining high standards of medical care and services.
