Mahmoud Bala Alfa Donates ₦5m as Gegu Beki Central Mosque Opens

Dr Mahmoud Bala Alfa has donated ₦5 million to support the newly completed Central Mosque in Gegu Beki, Kogi State, during its opening ceremony attended by community, religious and political leaders.

The event brought together residents and stakeholders for prayers, thanksgiving and fundraising in support of the mosque, which was facilitated by Hon. Mohammed Bashiru Gegu.

Speaking at the ceremony, Bala Alfa commended Bashiru for his commitment to providing the community with a central place of worship.

He described the mosque as a spiritual home for the community, noting that providing a place where people can worship, seek guidance and strengthen their relationship with Allah was an important achievement for any community.

Bala Alfa expressed hope that the new mosque would serve a broader purpose beyond worship by becoming a centre for peace, unity and positive community life.

He prayed that the mosque would serve as an anchor for Gegu Beki, bringing residents together and remaining useful to generations to come.

During the fundraising session, Bala Alfa announced a ₦5 million donation towards the mosque project. He also congratulated the people of Gegu Beki and commended individuals and groups who contributed to the completion of the project.

The occasion also provided an opportunity for the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, to recognise Bala Alfa for what was described as his continued support for the All Progressives Congress (APC), the state administration and humanitarian initiatives.

According to the statement, the governor acknowledged Bala Alfa’s efforts and support for the party and his willingness to contribute to initiatives considered beneficial to individuals and communities.
