Echoga Hosts APC Stakeholders, Mobilises Support for Tinubu, Ododo Ahead of 2027
A high-level consultative meeting of key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Enjema and Ojoku districts of Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State has ended with a renewed commitment to party unity, grassroots mobilisation and victory in the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, hosted yesterday by Hon. Sumaila Attah Echoga at his residence, brought together party leaders, elders and other influential stakeholders to deliberate on the future of the APC in Ankpa and strategies for strengthening the party ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The engagement provided an opportunity for stakeholders to assess the state of the party at the grassroots, identify areas requiring greater cooperation and chart strategic pathways towards consolidating the APC’s political structure across the local government.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Sumaila urged party members and supporters to remain steadfast, united and committed to the APC, stressing that the party’s success in 2027 would depend largely on the strength of its grassroots structures and the ability of its members to work together.
He called on stakeholders to sustain their support for the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, describing unity and collective responsibility as essential to consolidating the gains of the current administration.
Sumaila also urged the party faithful to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections, noting that the party must begin early preparations by strengthening its structures, maintaining internal cohesion and taking its message of development to the people.
He emphasised the need for stakeholders to put aside personal differences and work towards a common political objective, while encouraging party leaders to remain accessible to members and ensure that the concerns of the grassroots are adequately reflected in the party’s agenda.
According to him, the APC’s prospects in Ankpa would be strengthened when leaders, elders, youths and other stakeholders operate with a shared sense of purpose and mutual respect.
The meeting also focused on the need for deeper collaboration among party leaders across the Enjema and Ojoku districts, with participants stressing that sustained unity would provide a stronger foundation for effective political mobilisation and socio-economic development in the local government.
The stakeholders subsequently reaffirmed their commitment to the APC and expressed support for the party’s leadership and candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
The gathering was also marked by an outpouring of warmth, solidarity and goodwill towards Hon. Sumaila, reflecting the importance attached to continued engagement and consultation among party stakeholders.
The meeting ended with a renewed resolve to strengthen the APC at the grassroots, promote peaceful cooperation among members and work collectively towards a stronger and more prosperous Ankpa Local Government Area.
